For the 2016 edition of its fair, the all4pack observatory has delivered its results that the connected packaging, also called «smart packaging», is no surprise part of future investments for brands and manufacturers. “42% of the buyers involved allocate or will allocate specific means to the development of connected / intelligent packaging. Among the manufacturers concerned, 53% do the same [...]. The development of active packaging mobilises, will mobilise, specific means in 39% of the buyers concerned. This will also be the case for 39% of manufacturers.” On the consumer side, the interest in connected packaging differs according to nationalities and ages. Italians and the Spanish are more sensitive than their neighbours to the experience that a connected packaging can offer. On the generations side, 18-24 year olds are pleased with smart packaging.

In the land of the Cinecittà ( Italian Film Industry) as in most European countries, 2014 was characterised by what can be described as a lull in demand, but here, as in all countries affected by successive economic crises, one rolls up ones sleeves and gets on with it. If for French companies, the economic life is not a bed of roses, for the Italians, the vita is not always dolce. After a particularly prosperous phase in the early 2000s, Italy has suffered the effect of the strong crisis of 2008. Defeatist? Never, Italy also has their secret weapon: perseverance, adaptability and technological innovation!
